As a co-founder and principal of Reveal Design Group, Ken Ventry brings more than 20 years of extensive and distinguished lighting design experience to RDG. He takes a holistic approach to design that infuses architecture with light to create a welcoming environment. His collaborative and service oriented approach has set him apart and raised industry bench-marks especially in the hospitality segment. His work has earned widespread recognition, awards, and praise for hospitality and residential designs including projects such as the Andaz Papagayo Costa Rica, Agern Restaurant NYC, Sobou, Park Hyatt DC, Harlow Restaurant NYC, Royalton Hotel, Yotel, The Boca Beach Club, Town Restaurant, The Mondrian-Miami, Condado Plaza Hotel, Carlos Miele Flagship – New York, as well as over 50 high end residences. Most recently, his design for W Mexico City received Gold Key and IES National awards in 2015. Park Hyatt DC, W French Quarter, Harlow, and Serpico received National IES Awards in 2014.

Levia Lew

Levia LewPrincipal

Levia brings diverse experience encompassing museum gallery and theatrical lighting. Prior to co-founding Reveal Design Group, she held the position of resident Gallery Lighting Designer at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. as well as Assistant Lighting Designer at the Shakespeare Theatre Company and Arena Stage. She is also involved with banished? Productions, a D.C. based performance art and theatre company that produces original work and interpretations of art and literature. Her past architectural lighting experience with other firms includes projects such as the Crystals retail center at City Center in Las Vegas, The National Museum of the United States Army, municipal buildings, streetscapes, and courthouses in New York and New Jersey. Recently, her design for the renovation at the Park Hyatt in Washington D.C. received a Lumen Award in 2013, and her work on Sobou in New Orleans received a Cooper Source Award in 2013.

Scott HayPrincipal

A friend and supporter since the beginning of Reveal Design Group, Scott officially joined the team in 2013.  Scott is involved in every project overseeing overall workflow for the entire office.  As a designer, Scott draws upon an extensive background in lighting for theater and dance to inform his work in architectural lighting design. His theatrical experience includes work with Center Stage (Baltimore), Hartford Stage, Denver Center Theatre Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Norwegian Cruise Lines America, Pittsburgh Opera, Attack Theatre, and the first national tour of Disney’s The Lion King.  Working in found space theatre with Quantum Theatre in Pittsburgh, Scott found ways to establish the building itself as the storyteller, ultimately inspiring a move to architectural lighting.  In architectural lighting Scott specializes in residential and hospitality design.  He has designed high end residences on Park Avenue, the Hamptons, Las Vegas, and Florida. His work on Yotel-NY received an IALD Award and a 2012 IESNY Lumen Award. Scott holds an MFA in Lighting Design from Carnegie Mellon University.

Sam ZarnSenior Designer

Sam joined the team at Reveal Design Group in 2013 after spending several years with noted New York City lighting firms with a strong focus on corporate, residential, religious, and institutional light design. With Reveal, Sam has been involved on numerous hospitality and residential projects around the country including the Hilton at Bonnet Creek in Florida, the James Fuentes Art Gallery, and several upcoming luxury residential and hospitality properties in New York City, Canada, and Asia. Selected past project experience includes the New York Traiana Offices, Bonhams Gallery, the West End Collegiate Church, and numerous elementary and secondary educational institutions. Sam holds a B.F.A from Carnegie Mellon University in Theatre Lighting Design.

Donal SheehanDesigner/Project Manager

Donal joined the Reveal team in 2011 as a junior designer coming from a background in architecture and sustainable design in Ireland. In the spring of 2014 Donal, a LEED Green Associate, followed his original training and went to work as a project architect.  In the summer of 2016 Donal felt the calling to return and continue the successful journey that was started all those years ago and rejoined Reveal Design Group. Donal is eager to be working with a team that he not only considers amazing designers, but friends. Donal has a resume of work that encompasses residential, corporate, retail, hospitality, institutional complexes and preservation. He has project managed and designed for amazing clients, at both a national and international level. An impressive and diverse  selection of work includes; The New York Academy of Art in Tribeca, Jaguar & Land Rover offices on 46th street, a 14 Million Dollar Town House renovation on 61st street, Nomad Pizza in Princeton, W Hotel Mexico City and Andaz Papagoyo Resort in Costa Rica.  With a growing and continued passion to design and develop, both as a designer and a person, Donal brings life and enthusiasm to any project, while always aiming to achieve the very best for both the client and the end user.

Josh GordonDesigner/Project Manager

Josh brings to Reveal Design Group a passion for new technology and evolving design trends as well as a love for environments that challenge and redefine individual expectation. His strong narrative sense effectively identifies the opportunities a space has to affect its audience. With Reveal, Josh has aided in the lighting scene design for exciting new Zagat-listed New York City restaurants, including Vaucluse on the Upper East Side, Nix at Union Square, and Agern within Grand Central Station. Currently, Josh is working on several unique hospitality projects everywhere from Orlando to Dubai, as well as the upcoming restaurant collaboration Firepoint Grill with restaurateur George Paxos in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Josh is a graduate of Northwestern University where he specialized in theatrical lighting and scenic design. His background in industrial engineering, concert lighting, and arts administration has resulted in extensive experience with interactive design. Within the New York arts community, Josh periodically provides direction and production assistance for recording recognized Broadway talent for musical theatre cast recordings and albums in progress.

Joshua KleinDesigner/Project Manager

Joshua comes to the team at Reveal Design Group with a background in technical theatre, where he had been working as a lighting designer and as a technical director. Theatrical credits include work with several Philadelphia based companies, such as Plays and Players, Azuka Theatre, and Renaissance Music Theatre Company. Through this work, he has developed an artistic and technical appreciation of how lighting can impact our surroundings and us personally.  In addition to several upcoming restaurant and hospitality projects, Joshua has recently completed work on exciting new restaurants such as Pasquale Jones and Top Cut Steakhouse. Joshua holds a BFA in Theatre Design/Technology from Emerson College.

Stephen WilkinsonDesigner

Stephen joins the Reveal Design Group team with a background in theatre, television and event lighting design. Through this, he gained an interest in creating environmental design, naturally leading him to Architectural Lighting. Stephen has worked for companies such as: Arts Emerson, Lyric Stage and Nautilus Entertainment Design. With Reveal, he has worked on a variety of hospitality projects. Stephen holds a BFA in Theatre Design/Technology from Emerson College.

Ali HallDesigner

Ali joins Reveal Design Group with a background in lighting design for theatre, opera, and performance art. She maintained an active freelance design career while also working as an Assistant Lighting Designer, a teaching artist, and creating her own performance work. Ali is excited to be bringing her passion for utilizing light to create engaging and innovative environments to her work at Reveal.
